A sign of the times, I still remember as a kid growing up in the Midwest, just in awe of these Yankees. Guidey's 78' season in particular. Waiting for the sports section to see Guidry get to 10-0, 11-0, etc etc. I realize today we know there are better stats to gauge how effective a pitcher is than wins. But to see a guy make it to July without losing, was fun to track!!

you can tell when Mo came back out in the 9th inning that his cutter wasn’t sharp anymore and he was tired. but still, that’s on brosius to turn two and torre to take mo out after the double play.

Kirk Gibson is a man's man. In the clutch you want someone with his level of toughness. No fear what a great example he is for all professional athletes. Was he the nicest guy all of the time no. But when everything was on the line he was as good as anyone who ever played and that's all you can ask of anyone.

Without question. Biggest mistake IU made was firing him. We haven't been relevant since well except for 2002 and that team had Coach Knight players. but lost that final. If Cody & Victor didn't leave in 2013 no telling what 2014 could have been.

I agree that pitchers no longer go the distance in the games they pitch. Today, as soon as a pitcher reaches 100 pitches, he's yanked for a reliever. Baseball has changed for the worse instead of for the better.
